So what about Las Vegas?
Las Vegas alone spends more than five times promoting itself than what the entire country spends promoting itself abroad! As such, everyone has impressions of Las Vegas as a destination, and while these impressions no doubt vary, most of them are probably pretty accurate. So what more can be said?

The biggest growth in Las Vegas has been in the luxury and upscale markets. Known for years as a cheap haven for gamblers and other assorted activities, Las Vegas has quickly grown up to become an all-around exciting destination offering something for everyone – and if you can’t find it in downtown Vegas, such as outdoor adventure opportunities, it’s available not far away. Likewise, Las Vegas is no longer “cheap.” Sure, you can still find some old-time motels that fit the budget traveler’s purse, but generally, and especially on weekends, as Vegas has grown up, so has the budget it takes to enjoy it.

What’s more, Las Vegas hasn’t stopped growing and continues to evolve – and grow! For those that are seeking to be entertained, there’s never a dull moment.

Dining & Wining
For years, Las Vegas was a city of pre-cooked buffets. Today, some of the world’s finest restaurants make a home here, and they keep opening up. From Puck to Robuchon, finding fine dining in Las Vegas is no longer a mystery to be solved, but a conundrum as to which choice to make. All the big names in the culinary business are coming to Las Vegas.

As for wines, Las Vegas has become a flourishing wine scene, one of the world’s foremost treasure troves of fine wine, and the selections available by the glass or bottle stagger the imagination of any wine buff. Charlie Palmer’s Aureole at Mandalay Bay features a four-story wine tower, where your selection is retrieved by a “wine angel” that scales the steel-and-glass tower with the assistance of mechanical hoists. Nearly 20% of all the sommeliers in North America now reside in Las Vegas, far more than in any other U.S. city, and everything from table wine to a $200,000 bottle of Chateau Petrus 1921 Imperial are available.

Entertainment
In addition to top-name entertainers and scintillating and erotic performances, Las Vegas is now attracting Broadway shows and is the world’s home base for Cirque du Soleil productions, with no less than four such shows to choose from.

Shopping
There is no lack of shopping opportunities, with many high-end clothiers and jewelers easy to find, and outlet malls not far afield for those in search of bargains.

Hotels
While for some hotels are just a room in which to sleep, Las Vegas has some incredible hotel properties, offering luxurious accommodations and villas for affluent travelers.

From the new all-suite Signature, to the Wynn, Bellagio, the Venetian, Four Seasons, the upcoming Mandarin Oriental, and the Ritz Carlton Lake Las Vegas in a peaceful location 1/2 hour off the Strip, there is no lack of choice in this department. The one challenge in securing hotel accommodations is that rates change day to day, and the same room for the same night(s) will be available at different rates depending on supply and demand.
