All-Inclusive Vacations: Easy and Layed Back Getaways for One and All!
All-inclusive vacations used to be thought of as value-priced trips featuring buffet meals and spartan rooms. While a few may still be, many all-inclusive resorts have gone upscale, and there’s a wide range of choices to appeal to most all types of travelers, from budget to luxury.
Some all-inclusive resorts are downright exclusive, including Jean Michel Cousteau Fiji Islands Resort in Fiji, Clayquot and Nimmo Bay in British Columbia, and Royal Hideaway in Playacar.
Welcome to all-inclusive vacations with: spa services, suite accommodations, alternative dining and theme restaurants, and concierge and butler services.
The appeal of an all-inclusive vacation.
All-inclusive resorts are
relatively worry-free vacations where comfortable (if not luxurious) resort accommodations, all your meals (and in many cases alcohol), and various activities and entertainment are included in one price.
Most other types of
travel packages are more "bare bones" and do not include most meals or activities.
Cruise vacations are also considered all-inclusive vacations, to a degree.
On an all-inclusive vacation, there's no worrying about the cost of meals or where to eat. There's no long bill to review when you check-out. For families, the fact that many all-inclusive resorts offer kids programs and activities, with meals and snacks included, makes traveling with kids a more pleasant rather than challenging experience.
Does an all-inclusive vacation imply staying-put?
While some all-inclusive resorts may be a distance from town, many are well situated, and it's easy to make day-trips, just as one would when staying in a city-central hotel.
The advantage for many travelers is there usually are many activities available at the resort, and for some it's more relaxing and just as enjoyable to stay on property. Families with young children also enjoy the safety factor of all-inclusive resorts.
Where can you find all-inclusive resorts?
While mostly located throughout Mexico and the Caribbean, all-inclusive resorts can be found in Europe, Morocco, Bali, and Fiji! The most popular all inclusive resort brands are Club Med and Sandals & Beaches, but there are a number of others.
You generally won't find all-inclusive resorts in the U.S. or Hawaii, except for some select niche products like spa resorts or dude ranches.
What about the dining experience?
Certainly meals are an important part of any vacation, and most all-inclusive resorts feature multiple dining venues, providing guests a variety of dining experiences, from buffets to a la carte dining. The best feature amazing restaurants managed by premier chefs.
How do you differentiate between all-inclusive vacations?
There are many all-inclusive brands. It’s difficult for most travelers to differentiate among them, and it depends on what you are looking for. There are all-inclusive resorts that primarily appeal to couples and honeymooners and those that appeal to families.
