My kids and I had a great time at the Punta Cana Club Med! It was better than I expected. I went to another all-inclusive in Jamaica many years ago and it was ok, we had fun; but Club Med was MUCH nicer.
The rooms were spacious and very clean and nice, and cute. The daily housekeeping service was very good . They even put flowers on the bed.
The pool at Club Med Punta Cana was huge and the water warm, the kids club was very good. My 5-year old loved it. My 4-year old went two times but she was a bit overwhelmed. No problem, we dragged her around with us.
The beach was fantastic. Warm and clean.
This resort is perfect for someone who wants to learn to wind surf because there are no waves, and of course it’s perfect for little kids. There is no real snorkeling, however. They lend the equipment but no one was seeing anything much at the hotel. They do offer several snorkeling excursions, but it didn’t sound like there was much to see close by so we skipped those.
The bar was very nice and right above the pool – good location. They have entertainment every night, but we just watched the really funny & silly kids show @ 8:15pm and didn’t bother with the later adult shows. My kids loved the kid’s shows and they all got to be in a show one night.
The Club Med staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They acted like they were glad we were there (hard to find in the US) and the kids camp staff was very very good with the kids. They played with them like they were actually enjoying themselves (not just going thru the motions). I am always reluctant to hand over supervision of my children to someone else, and did not the first day, I just watched. I was so impressed I had no reservation putting them in camp the next day, and my 5-year old was excited to join in. He had a blast and learned some new things (archery, trapeze, etc)
Last, the food at Club Med was very very good. Some items were downright gourmet. There was a huge selection of items at every meal and everything was fantastic.
The weather was perfect every day – didn’t get too hot either.
I met a lady who was there on her 10th Club Med vacation and never had a bad experience – I believe it.
