Packages, Packaged Trips & Fly & Drive Vacations

Unlike escorted tours, where a group of people are traveling together on a set itinerary with a guide, there are many "packages" travelers can book that provide far more flexibility with your time. A package takes care of the basics, including your accommodations, transportation, and possibly other inclusions. However, you are traveling independently, not as part of a group and are free to spend your time as you wish.

If one is not interested in an escorted tour, the only reason not to book a package is if you already have your airline tickets and/or accommodations pre-arranged, or you want to arrive at a place without any reservations.

Any type of package can be created and arranged, using just about any type of accommodations. To work with our travel experts to arrange your vacation package, we will need to know when and where you plan to travel, from what city you wish to fly, what type of hotel or resort you may enjoy, whether you would like a car rental included or, if not, if you want transfers provided, and if there is any additional excursions or sightseeing you may enjoy (which the experts can help you identify).

Some advantages of booking a package
Often the advantage of a package is you can save money booking travel components together rather than piecemeal, taking advantage of possible savings and knowing. With your accommodations reserved and your flight booked, you're free to spend your time on holiday however you like. If you wish to pre-book select sightseeing or excursions, that can generally be arranged. We can even pre-book your golf tee times in Hawaii, too!

Some disadvantages of booking a package
Booking a package means pre-paying for the components included in your package -- which usually is your airfare and your accommodations, and sometimes a car rental. While this offers a convenience (and often a savings) to travelers, some travelers prefer not to pre-pay their accommodations. Cancellation and change penalties will apply should you have to change your package, and some travelers prefer to guarantee accommodations on their credit card instead of pre-paying for them. For those that already have their airfare, it's a good enough option. Of course, with most packages you can purhcase a cancellation waiver and/or travel insurance, to protect your vacation investment should something occur that might change your plans.
