Visit the land of The Rising Sun and immerse yourself in the myth and mystique of ancient Japan. Have the thrill of seeing Mt. Fujii for the first time. Meander in exquisite gardens with ponds of Koi and a canopy of shimmering cherry blossoms. Explore feudal era castles that still rise from their massive stone foundations filled with the spirit of the mighty Samurai and learn the ancient code of Bushido. See a sumo wrestling match, attend a Taiko drum performance, experience Kabuki theatre, try Ikebana (flower arranging), or a traditional tea ceremony. Let your taste buds explode while experiencing Sushi, Teppanyaki, Sake, Kobe Beef or anything in between. Japan is full of traditional and international cuisine. Rest in a Ryokan, a historic Japanese inn and Onsen (Hot Springs) or the Four Seasons. Japan can accommodate any desire or budget. Picture yourself in a scene from "Memoirs of a Geisha" while exploring ancient Kyoto and walking among the delicate Geisha poised in silk kimonos. Call me today and let me help you plan a journey to this amazing country alive with culture and wonder.

Japan is a fascinating land of contrasts. In Tokyo the serene Meiji Shrine alongside Akihabara Electric Town and its anime cafes illustrates this contrast in a nutshell. On my most recent trip to Tokyo I focused on shopping and can recommend Shibuya Town Center (think Melrose Ave.), Roppongi Hills (very upscale) and Ginza (designer) as well as Mitsukoshi Department Store, the oldest department store in Japan founded as a kimono shop. I also had a private tour of Tsukiji Market, termed “The Fish Market at the Center of the World” and enjoyed a supremely fresh sushi lunch just outside. I would highly recommend this as a morning excursion. A more extended stay in Japan could include the unique experience of a ride on the bullet train to Kyoto, known for its 2,000 temples and shrines and Nijo Castle built by the Tokugawa Shoguns, as well as a trip into the mountains of Gifu Prefecture and the quaint town of Takayama with its traditional wooden houses and famous market. For an experience of real Japan I recommend a 2 night stay at a traditional Japanese Inn called a ryokan. Whether you are an independent traveler or require private guides and translators, I have the experience and connections to make it happen. I have been to Japan and arranged many successful trips for my clients. I look forward to planning your trip of a lifetime.
Arigato gozaimasu (thank you very much).
