Club Med Turks and Caicos
Trip Review (9/2007)
My first encounter with Club Med was this past summer in Turks and Caicos. I have never experienced an all-inclusive vacation, let alone a Club Med resort. What I found was an exciting, upbeat resort with something to do, or not do at all hours of the day!
My intitial response was a bit overwhelming as I arrived at the resort, I was alone for the first two days and a bit apprehensive, but the young, friendly staff made me feel most welcome!
After settling in I spent the first two days exploring the quiet beach a few steps outside my room. I relaxed in the hammocks and swam in the warm sea and gladly stayed away from the excitement a few minutes away.
Once my friend arrived, we spent the next week active, exploring and meeting many new friends from all over the world. We spent our days windsurfing, kayaking, playing beach volleyball, lying on our rafts, and soaking up the Carribean rays! Our nights were spent, outside drinking a bottle of wine and eating scrumptious food while the breezes kept us cool. After dinner we usually went to a show or danced the night away.
One of the greatest perks about the trip was all of the fabulous, interesting people that you meet! The GO(gracious organizers) staff in and of itself are beyond wonderful. We met people that enhanced our trip and made it even more memorable! The GM's(gracious members), which we finally realized were us, the guests, were interesting to talk to, meet with over dinner, lounge with at the pool, or dance with during the night.
After my friend left, I had two more days and used those to relax once again and have a few more cherished moments with my new GO and GM friends. I was sad, yet excited to go and I know without a doubt that I will return to another fun Club Med vacation!
